What Death Brings Poem by Jessica Veksler

What Death Brings

I think of death and what it brings-
Sadness, tears, lonely feelings.
But then I ask myself, “Why? ”
Why do we dread the great goodbye?
Because the faces of those lost
Will never surface from beneath their cross?
Or is it because of the emptiness;
Living without the one you most miss?
Maybe it’s the words that you forgot
To say to them before they were lost.
Either way, what’s done is done,
But in the end, your spirit has won.
I see no reason to fear death’s visit,
Because in itself, death is heaven’s ticket.
You’ve lived your life, full and fun,
And now it’s time for your second run.
Death is not a bold escape
From hardships, pain, and unfair fate.
Death is your well-deserved reward
For living, loving, and striving forward.
I think of death and what it brings-
Sadness, tears, lonely feelings.
But also peace, forgiveness, ease,
A second chance to feel the breeze.

Hey jessica... i liked your poem ay, it's very deep and meaningful, and i havet'a say... i feel the same way about the perception of death, i mean if 'we' as souls don't feel we're rrrreally living.. there is no half-living so the opposite of all life's deception and confusion is harmony and peacefulnesss...(if that is even word?) And there is no kindness where myself and many others come from so..... ...If there is no love 2 be found might as well be underground
