What Do You Do? Poem by Edwina Reizer

What Do You Do?

What do you do when the one you love
doesn't know you exist?
Do you look from afar or gather resolve
and quietly persist?
Should you pine in your heart
for all of your days?
Should you cry in your dreams
to the maker you praise?

I think the answer should always be
to let your love be known.
Be the Romeo or the Juliet.
Don't let love die alone.
Be courageous and daring where love's concerned.
Never keep it inside.
For the one you love must know you exist
and your heart must know you tried.
