What good are words
if you can't afford
the pen, the paper,
the keyboard?
Is speaking them
to someone who may
or may not
be listening
a way to create a legacy
in an age when
everything is known
to be disposable
made to be forgotten
M.J., your words will never be forgotten because they are imprinted on the readers' minds!
So profound and meaningful. Your words leave echoes. They are unforgettable. Kudos!
Verba volent, scripta manent, the old Lating proverb, wonderfully expressed in this poem. Excellent.
Thank you so much, Aufie. Strangely enough, that proverb came to mind a week or so before I wrote this poem.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
I think the harsh lesson of all existence is that inevitably everything gets forgotten, but as long as something or someone remembers, a piece of us lives. I know reading this here and now some good has come out of things.
Thank you, Kevin. Very much appreciated.
