What Granny Taught Me Poem by Ifegwu Victor

What Granny Taught Me

Rating: 3.0

Take this clothe
put it on
and let me see
how it fits you

'No', I told her,
'its but a lady's wear',
'yes', I know
she said to me

so, I took it from her
not willingly, rather hesitantly
and into it I went
She held the mirror before me

and the reflection I saw
left my mouth agape
for it was not mine
but that of a lady

'wow! ' she shouted,
you look beautiful
'choi! ', I screamed
but for the use of 'beautiful'

she smiled and
with her hands on my back
her eyes dearly piercing
my two little eyes

'son',
you can be whatever
and anything you want to be
only think of it, see it
and put yourself into it.

I liked your diction, it makes the reader speeds up in reading to get the result of the conversation, that's exciting. Thank you for sharing, Waiting for more poems by you.
