What happened to summer?
I know it was here
I hung up my clothes
But can no longer I fear.
The flowers were blooming
In their brightest of hues
But now I hear thunder
It's giving me the blues.
I filled up the bird feeders
I plucked off dead heads
Some flowers look stunted
They've stayed in their beds.
I know that it happens
At this time of year
What happened to summer?
I feel close to tears.

Nice goodbye to summer. But I'm feeling it more like- Happily saying good bye to a hundred and five degree out doors, flies swarming around the kitchen every time an over warm bottle of wine this heat pours in milky rage. Can't be outdoors- the sun has stolen the stage. I happily say good bye!
