What Is 'american' About American Poetry?

American poetry is about American life, culture, society and manner of living, American vibes, nuances and idosyncrasies of the language and above all, about the American federation of states, the settlers who settled it here, after fnding good hope and building a new home to found a new democracy with the lessons ever learnt from history and people's movements, charters of human declarations of freedom and independence from the shackles of slavery. But something goes amiss when we question with regard to early civilizations and setlements so unknown to us.

But what is American about American poetry? In American poetry, we come to grapple with a strange Americanness seen ln linguistic nomenclature and protocol, the slangy expression, curtailed and cut short to put it briefly and so finely with a stylistic, manneristic expression. Grown naturally, we can see the speeches and rhythms patterning it with the scripts, song-notes of the jazz, blues, rock n' roll, pop, disco, rap and so on.

American poetry is about the click of American tongue, American speech, American variation, how has it suied to a new idiom and expression of a newly found land going back to the days of shipment, settlement. The early attempts to capture vocalizations, intonal rhythms, curtailed speeches and Cockneys aligning in the end have paved the way for.

The poetry of the jazz, the poetry of the blues, the rock n' roll, how do the rappers rap it, how do the hipsters hip-hop on the stage? How do the carols, ecclesiastical festvities, folk entertainments and celebrations have laid the ways for scripting songs?
