What Is This Thing Called Love Poem by Peter S. Quinn

What Is This Thing Called Love

What is this thing called love?
That nobody really knows
It drifts like the clouds above
It comes and then it goes.

What is this heartbeat all for?
If it's not for your affection
Why can't we be of love sure?
And why all this rejection?

What is this thing called a heart?
Its beatings from you to me
Whenever some affections start
It pounders and pounders free.

Why isn't love always sure?
Why do we needheart's playing?
For love is to give and assure
That devotion is always staying.

What is this thing called love?
It appears and then it grows
Like the sunshine here above
On summer days shines and glows.

Why isn't love always sure?
Why do we needheart's playing?
For love is to give and assure
That devotion is always staying.
