What She Believed Poem by Randy McClave

What She Believed

She told me she was not a fake
But, she puts makeup on when she does awake,
She also dyes the color of her hair
So, people will always look at her and stare.
She always wears a push-up bra
So people can look at her cleavage with awe,
And she always wears her high heel shoes
She loves the compliments from the different views.
She paints her toenails and her fingernails
To entice and hopefully seduce all males,
She always wears different perfumes and colognes
To attract men's hormones.
She then had some cosmetic surgery done
So, she would look more attractive to every father and son
And she loves all the whistles and flirts
When men look at her wearing blouses, bikinis and skirts.
She's a different woman when she goes to bed
She's showered and undressed when she lays down her head,
I wished she looked the way nature had intended
To be herself and never pretended.
Whenever I ask her out on a date
For her I must seemingly always pace and wait,
And if or when I rush her to be ready or on time
She yells at me as though I have committed a crime.
I would love a portrait of her when she sleeps
I wonder what dream she creates and keeps,
But, when she wakes up fresh in the morning
Her new day now lies aborning.
