What The…? - Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Just when I thought everything was going right
A disaster occurred and upset my steady pace
Like an undetected projectile hurled in the night
Racing from an empty place…Smack in the face!

What the heck just happened? I ask with hesitance…
Minding my own business, I suddenly received a gash
My sad reflection is no longer capable of radiance
Since my countenance is drained and turned to ash

I rationalize and say, hey it could have been much worse
This nauseous feeling will pass as soon as I calm down
Refraining from punching and releasing a loud foul curse
I choose to mend, and defuse the reason for my meltdown
