What They Wish For Poem by Matthew Holloway

What They Wish For

There are those who wish for it
that one thing they actually do not want
that person, soul, that kind of offering
a dedication of some such sort
some want the poets and songwriters
to pen sweet odes to them
only when its offered they run away
afraid of the beauty and romance
afraid of what others may say or think
the judgements be dammed
and the weak minded dammed as well
those who appreciate not the art
the thought and feeling presented
are wasteful and foolish
if you ever wish for a truth
then embrace it's arrival whole hearted
for one such day if you do not
you shall live to regret it
