What Use Threats? Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

What use threats
which sometimes
often usually achieves

the opposite effect
to hoped for outcomes
to desired intentions.

Concern warning
given in genuine love
quietly heartfelt

is more appropriate.

Why put
hurting souls
into corner
of told you so?

Why rub
down people up
in abusive
critical ways?

Why kick victims
down on their knees
who have fallen
on their karma face?

Is now not
the best time
to help them
to their feet?

Time enough later
for victims of misfortune
caused by multiple reasons

to pain error
learn wisdom
life inherent
in such lessons.
