What Was Said To The Horse Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

What Was Said To The Horse

I may not have heard,
Words spoken from others...
Directly said to the horse.
Had been true or not.
As I alone,
Enjoyed the company...
On paths together,
We pioneered to trot.
However...
This I do know about the horse,
Who confided in me...
Over the years we gained,
Each other's trust that remains.
Whenever together,
There had been...
Any negative consequence to face,
Neither one of us would pretend...
A doing not to defend each other.

And that to say,
I know this to be true...
That this horse would not,
Have glued its own mouth...
To prevent from telling me,
Every detail of the truth.
Just to have someone else make attempts,
To convince what I've heard...
From the horse is hearsay.
For a version of the truth,
To believe I should accept.
When both the horse and I know...
Is a presentation of B.S.
Since that 'bull' and the 'horse',
I grew and knew to trust...
May appear to be from the same family.
But this I know to be factual,
And not to delude.
That 'bull' and this horse,
I could never confuse as being related!
