he stands beside us at all times
were told he sees all we do
we have so much faith in something
we don't even know if it's true
were told there's a heaven and that there's a hell
that the devil is a dark angel
the one who only fell
were told god is all knowing very forgiving and good
that we need to go to church
because it's said that we should
were told to pray and to say grace
that god is in everyone everything and everyplace
were told that if were good we'll go to heaven
that if were bad we'll go to hell
were told to love the lord
or we'll end up being with the one who fell
were told these things as we grow older
depending on beliefs
our parents push it into our brains
so it never leaves
they hammer it into our heads till were all morally good
and we go to church, pray and say grace
because it's what was said we should

I always seem to enjoy sceptical poems about religion! If you're interested, I've written a couple myself...
