For four hundred thousand years man had fears dealt with by spears
Only in the last couple of centuries, fought with chemical technologies
Discovery of germs and parasitic worms
Added chemicals to water, the bacteria to slaughter
Poisons for the bugs, for illness drugs
Our immunity, lost with scientific impunity
On one thing to focus science's hocus-pocus
With its constricture it can't see the bigger picture
