When A New Day Dawns Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

When A New Day Dawns

There's nature at my doorstep
Who could ask for more
This is a fine new morning
This is a brand new dawn.

Greenfinches feeding freely
From their favourite place
Their wings flap with excitement
There's a smile upon my face.

Robin redbreast has arrived
To form the morning queue
With vigorous anticipation
Happily treads the dew.

The blossom on the splendid tree
Makes a background scene to cherish
How can I resist a sigh
For nature deserves full merit.

In all its morning glory
I welcome thee once more
For each new day's a blessing
Just like each day before.
