When An Ocean Dies Poem by Chuy Amante

When An Ocean Dies

when an ocean dies
a mermaid cries
little swimmers
sink down and rest

in peace I don't know
for when they go
the falling dominoes
point we're next

from east to west
then south and around
Fukushima spreads
her death

'they' won't say
what has reached L.A.
death can be seen
far worse than meth

dear sea we love you,
and LIFE-ly
you've always been
to see you gasping
for your last breaths
sure looks like
a fatal sin

The last stanza, ' dear sea we love you.... a fatal sin' is so beautiful. Nice poem. Liked it.
