When Beauty Divine Upon The Eyes Rests Poem by Mohammad Younus

When Beauty Divine Upon The Eyes Rests

When beauty divine upon the eyes rests,
And grace divine cloaks body and soul bright,
My mind finds peace with what I hear and see,
With heart's eyes and ears, while gazing at night.
Within the silent realm of the heart's depth,
Lie yearnings blessed upon my ears and eyes.

O Allah! Shed thy blessings, rains of mercy,
For only wisdom can dispel these doubts,
That might hinder the path you wish for me,
To understand how love divine conquers,
Veiling from the One those deluded souls.
Neither whims nor force bring awareness clear
Of Absolute unity, profound truth.

Though body may wane with the passing time,
My love transcends this mortal veil always;
For in the darkness, my soul shines a star,
Where burdened hopes prevail and carry on.
No blemish tarnishes what I perceive,
For love is seen only through purity.
