When Dawn Suddenly Comes Red Poem by Gert Strydom

When Dawn Suddenly Comes Red

you lie next to me as if you are lost.
When the sun sets the afternoon on fire
I know how deeply I do miss you.
When dusk touches the horizon
I see you coming home,
while the evening for moments become silver-white
and then I am astounded by our joy
while we both see the evening star as it flowers blue.
