When Goddess Came Poem by Bishnupada Sethi

When Goddess Came

A tiny speck of thing, it is
Shaking the entire mankind
Confusing experts
With its behaviour highly unpredictable.
Havoc looms large everywhere.
Near and dear ones are shutting
The door on face as one is taken ill.
The deceased are deserted
To be disposed of by the unknowns.

It's mere an accident
While trying to be good to others
That I got caught
While playing hide and sick
With the virus for so long.

Strange are the earthly connections
And abstruse are our feelings-
Someone felt something not going on well
The night before I fell sick.

Out there by my bed
She appeared from nowhere.
Masked though still I recognised.
There was tear in the eyes.
She was feeling my pain
Having conviction in the heart
I will be victorious.
Unmindful of consequences
She advanced towards me
And I was melted in a warm embrace.

The glances reminded
The connections over
Several births.
I could see being together
Over time and space.

By that time I regained composure
She was gone.
She came with power of a goddess-
I can't be sick for long.
