When Have I Been Open? Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

When Have I Been Open?

I hide my love
When I love women across.
I hide my hate
When I work with my rivals
I hide my contempt
When I move with the low beings.
I hide my jealousy
In my brothers’ glory.
I hide my displeasure
When I yield to the power.
I hide my reservation
In my wife’s parental affinity.
I hide my inconvenience
When unwanted guests disturb.
I hide my selfishness
When I deal with my siblings.
I hide my bias
When I treat my sons and daughters.
When have I been open
When I have been with others?

I hide my passions when I read yours I hide my affections when I milk your babes I hide my vanities when I kneel before you I love the way you write so much different from others with an irony and sarcasm yet, open and blunt with a dig at life's Ironies.................
