When I Die Poem by Saju Abraham

When I Die

I don't want tears when I die,
Not that you should break into joy.
No, I don't want you brooding,
I want you to remember the good times,
And not seal a deal with destiny.

Didn't we have our moments,
When we laughed over small things.
Cried when the weak won small victories?
If they have made better your life,
Then my life would be complete.
Doesn't matter if I know it, I don't know it.

No I don't want you waste your life.
Take me as a brief pause in your life,
That invigorated and made it worthwhile.
But then the new chapter begins.
We relate to the past only to see the whole.
