When I Think Of You Poem by Crystal Rosser

When I Think Of You

When I think of you,
I think of your skin
As hard, sleek leather,
As soft as a cloud,
That I can sink my hands into
And be set on fire
By the depths of your soul beneath it.

When I think of you,
I imagine your taste
Like butterscotch and smoke,
Like reaching for a plum,
In a misty orchard
Juicy and tangy
My mouth yearns to bite.

When I think of you,
I think of your voice
Soft and masculine,
Consoling my inner demons;
Tucking them in to eternal rest.

When I think of you,
I think of your eyes
Watching from dark secrets they withold
And desires they must harbor,
A reflection of love and frustration
I can see when I see wildly into them.

When I think of you,
I think of your heart
And what it longs for
And wonders if it's me
Or if it's lonely or content
Or if you ever search deeply
Through insecurity and uncertainty.

When I think of you,
I think of loving you,
And being with you
I think of us being dangerously happy
And curiously in love,
And being good to each other.

When I think of you,
I think of myself
And how you make me feel
Whether you are with me
Or far away;
When I think at all
For love and life's sake,
For what I can possibly hope
to love and live for,
I think of you.
