When I Was A Child Poem by Paul Warren

When I Was A Child

When I was a child I found
I didn't want to put down
The toys I played with all the time
For childhood is so magical and fine

And to leave it was so sad
Can the transition to adulthood be so bad
Only if the magic does not stay
When life is so serious it just wastes away.
