When I Was Young Poem by Margarita Cortés

When I Was Young

As I walked home the other day
I thought of you
I remembered how much I'd lived when next to you
I suddenly felt like that naive girl
The one who dreamt of love

Later in bed I layed
Wishing I was next to you
I thought of kisses and touches of love
All of the things a girl thinks of
Yeah! That's me the naive girl

I fell asleep and dreamt of me
and you and us and all of the things we did
when I was just a naive girl

When I awoke and thought of us
And naive thoughts
Thoughts of love
Wished you were here and I just that naive girl
