When Life Becomes Older Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

When Life Becomes Older

The hands that once built dreams
now tremble with memory.
Steps that ran toward the horizon
slow to meet the earth's embrace.

Laughter echoes from distant rooms,
familiar voices softened by time.
The mirror holds a story,
lines etched by years, not regret.

Seasons shift without asking,
days fold into one another.
Yet the sky still opens wide,
and the wind hums an old tune.

A heart, though weathered,
beats steady as the tide.
Not weaker, not lesser-
only wiser, only whole.
