When Love Doesn't Live Up To Its Promise To Be " Minty Fresh " Poem by Raj Dronamraju

When Love Doesn't Live Up To Its Promise To Be " Minty Fresh "

Rating: 5.0

Swallowing gum
By then a tasteless lump
All flavor and properties of enjoyment drained
It is the nature of restless clinging continuance - this need to press the no longer responsive

And you popped a candy for minty fresh breath
This candy was sold with a promise and it was presented by actors in advertisements
The man/woman whose breath makes strangers succumb to his conspicuous pursuit

His side of the story
I would like to marry a woman with no dreams and no aspirations
Will stay in the kitchen and observe the unwritten compact
I support us from the outside, you support us from the inside
I earn money, you keep the household running

In glorious smellovision
One who reeks of success
And you didn't like how she looks, how she smells, wears no make-up, wears pajama bottoms in public
Could she care less about coming out with you tonight?

And you thought of having minty fresh breath and teeth that sparkled and talking to female joggers and women in bathing suits
And then that moment is lost
The next few decades make consumer commoners susceptible for commercial enterprise playing on who we wanted to be and who we wanted to love and who we wanted to be loved by
