Oh, that first stanza bites! ! Circumspect is a word I try to pound into my children. Never believe appearances. You never know someone fully until you marry them, go into business with them, or oppose them. Until then, nothing but pleasant, finer green falsities! Well captured, good Captain!

Seamus, thank you for the comment. This poem was written as part of a story I wrote ages ago. It was a dire warning by an old sage to the heroine of the story, when one of her closest allies was about to betray her. I imagine this warning still applies today.

Late Autumn begins to cool. Leaves turn at this time and we should be aware about. The dreams they wrestle with in sleep. when love itself betrays we feel sad and agony comes in mind and we should be aware. This provokes thought. Being wise we should be aware about.
