When Monsters Come Poem by Dorsey Baker

When Monsters Come

Monsters come late at night
Tearing down all my walls
Trying to get at me!
Afraid that I am not
Strong enough
To fight them off!
My heart is pounding
Loud as thunder
My body is shaking
Bad as can be
My blood is
Racing like a wildfire
My thinking
Full of chaos and confusion
Their eyes find me
Naked my armour is gone now
They are attempting to
Devour my flesh
These monsters
Rampaging
In my soul
