When Our Love Is Done Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

When Our Love Is Done

You no longer seem to care,
Maybe you never really did.
You seem to wish I’d go away
Just like some pesky kid!

Somehow you must tell me,
It’s best if you clear the air.
And even if it hurts me,
You must act like you don’t care.

Then if you do walk away,
I’ll behave just like a man.
Though I will be just half of one,
On the day when our love’s done.
