When I Sing! Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

When I sing a love song,
I’m singing it to you.
And when I write new poetry,
It’s you I’m writing to!

When I see a sunset
Across a sprawling sky,
While standing near the ocean,
It’s like looking into your eyes.

So I will sing you love songs.
And I will write you rhyme.
It’s how I say I love you.
I want to show you all the time.

When I say good morning,
Or when I say goodnight,
I want to be beside you,
And know that all is right!
