When She Comes............ Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

When She Comes............

When she comes….

Comes silently;
Calm and quiet
Holy as shrine
Walks through shades
Murmurs softly
Of happy songs
Echoing deep
Amongst birds, trees
Blossoms and souls
Casting magical spell
On them to fair sleep
Lingers where
The shadows creep
Brings to children’s eyes
Sweet and dreamy sleep
Stills the stormy sea
Of human cares and worries
For a brief slip
Comes and stays all alone
Embraces darkness
Her abode to light by none
When shows up her only friend
The beauteous moon
Mitigating her gloom
By lighting her lamps
Comes as a fair aid
And twinkling stars
Of matchless splendour
Not falling behind
Beaming tender light
In obedience to the Infinite
To dispel darkness
In the abode of our dear Night………
