When The Lights Go Off Poem by snejana novosedlova

When The Lights Go Off

It happens
When the lights go off,
When you say good night,
When you get into your bed,
When you switch off the light….
Right out side your window,
Right outside your door
When your head touches your pillow
And you wish nothing more.

As silent as death
It slides through the darkness
Under the street light green eyes shone with wildness,
On her soft little paws, purring so loud,
With one lonely cry, the street cat jumps gently on the ground.
With her shadow slipping behind her
She returns in to the darkness, where no one can find her.

In that capturing darkness
Brown lizard is clambering up,
Conspicuous pattern is his natural makeup.

A crew like a creek flew out of their tree
The street cat looked at them with curiosity
Bats moved across as silent as could be
Ghostly black figures creped into my room determinedly.

All of it happens every night
When get in to the bed and switch off your light.
