When This Sunrise Is Merely A Memeory Of Nothing Poem by Mikel Calcagno

When This Sunrise Is Merely A Memeory Of Nothing

*When roses hide behind the sun
Decadence penetrates the grains of sand
When weakness covers the better part of me
Without warning darkness falls harder than rain.
*Darkness on the face of nothing
Light isn't for those who believe they have it all
*All that's left of yesterday is raining on me
Why are all my thoughts of you painted in apathy?
So I run inside myself to be safe from the rain
So cover me from all the clouds that pour out this disarray
*Shadows are secrets confined by the sun
As daylight dies, the epitome of all we are shines thru us
Reflections shine
Effigy's burn
Blameless from sight
Darkness falls...
