When We Met Poem by Daniel Omaya

When We Met

All cannot be described
For when we met,
We became tourists bound by destiny
Hardly did we know one another
But much did we learn of each other:
By the swamp, by the river, by the market place

And when we met,
Emptiness turned to hope
Loneliness became mythical over solace
As we laughed and stared.
And my heart leapt to excitement
And missed a beat- when we met.

With tearful eyes
Did we say farewell
And passion ebbed as tides do
And the thrill of togetherness
– with July’s bright moon the witness –
Showered affection and ecstasy allover

For when we met,
Words could not express the heart:
How strong love binds!

Shakil, thank you for your comment. I still feel there's no appropriate way, by use of words, to describe LOVE!
