The Messiah will come, says Kafka,
only when he is no longer necessary.
But others say he might arrive
when he is most direly needed.
Then the anointed Savior
will usher in the World to Come,
the Messianic Age
of global peace and prosperity.
He is already among us.
He is present in every generation.
Some met him at the Forum in Rome.
Some saw him
at the gates of Jerusalem.
People encountered him
on the streets of Athens and Moscow.
He could come right now
if we just hearkened to the Voice.
Skeptics say
that this is just a legend.
Yet his coming is certain.
After all, sooner or later
even low probability events
will happen.
Someday the Messiah will come.
His coming is certain
because it is statistically possible.
