When You Came Poem by Soran M. H

When You Came

When you arrived,
your path shone with brightness,
and darkness stretched behind you.
The shadow stepped before you,
and you followed it.

The sky turned to smoke,
leaving people gasping for air.
The dolphins,
patiently awaiting the cleansing of the sea—
its waters choking on plastic waste—
were instead met by flames.

The wandering children,
hoping for their parents' reconciliation,
were suddenly swept away
by the suffocating breath of evil.
Neither reunion came to pass,
nor did the children witness it.

Now, where knowledge once thrived,
burnt books lay scattered on classroom desks.
Evil will be the one to turn their smoldering pages.

You've departed.
the Earth's treasures remain undivided.
the light on your street has dimmed,
and you are lost in the shadows that trail behind.
