When Your Cup Is Empty Poem by Dorsey Baker

When Your Cup Is Empty

You're naked
but no one can see you
You speak
but no one can hear your voice
begging but no one can hear your plea
You try to walk
but you stumble
like a man full of wine
You deny guilt
but it shows
upon your face
and in your words
anger rises in your defense
and for yourself
you provide no witnesses
which makes no sense!
