Where Did The Present Go. Poem by Ronald Strickland

Where Did The Present Go.

Life that was build on love and dreams,
with a wonderful friend to love and trust.

Through heart aches and pain, holding onto each other
during life's storms that may wash away the love that became.

When backs turn away with anger the love in the heart remains and is unashamed.
As that love is strong, with time, love will turn back our souls to face each other with forgiveness again.

Caring for each other when we are ill and confused,
our love for each other will see us through.

When one walks away and the slamming of the hearts doors are felt, the rooms become empty and the walls become bare,
nothing hanging except a single wreath of autumn flowers
that says it all.

Strangely, one finds themselves in the past, before love was there.

With the pain of a broken heart and the vision
blurred with tears, from a melting heart.

Feeling so lost,

Wondering.

Where did the present go? Allowing past to return.
