Where Is He? Poem by Loyd C Taylor Sr

Where Is He?

Where is the hope of salvation?
Where is all the celebration?
Where is the One sent from above?
Where is He, divine gift of love?

Where is He, born the Jewish King?
Where is He of whom angels sing?
Where is the One that shepherds seek?
Where is He of whom wise men speak?

Where is He, born this glorious night?
Where is He, God's radiant light?
Where is the One in manger low?
Where is He; does anyone know?

Where is the hope of salvation?
Where is all the celebration?
Where is the One sent from above?
Where is He, divine gift of love?

Where is He? Where is He?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Author's notes: One December day, as Christmas neared, I recall a little story I read about a birthday party that was given for a little boy. The guest came and one by one they tossed their coats on the bed. Later on in the party the dad went to get the honored guest, his son. After calling for him, a search ensued. They found the child smothered to death by the large, heavy heap of coats which had been tossed on him as he slept on the bed. I thought how often this is that way we celebrate Christmas. We get so caught up in the party and gaiety, that we lose sight of the honored guest, Christ. Let's not forget Him this Christmas, for He is the reason for the season!
