Where Would I Go Poem by Iftekhar Bukhari

Where Would I Go

Where would I go

Wandering on some edge of the dawn
these stars too, would wither away
Wrapped in some old forest
these seasons would fade out too

Everybody would go away;
the moon behind
some desolate mounds,
the pigeons towards
some melancholic tombs,
the wind across
the lost oceans,
the trails to
the other trails

The dreams and the dark clouds
The soil and the butterflies
Yawning mirrors
The windows, always ajar
In their bounds of to be or not to be
nobody ever stayed
My vagabonding,
started getting ahead of me

The night is never-ending
The void within and the solitude
Shattered is the tablet of the time
On which, I am a character
of a story waning fast

Who would I forget
Who'd I be remembered by
Everybody would go away
Where would I go?
