The art imitates life; it's mimesis.
It is applicable to literature.
The writer doesn't imitate reality
But brings reality into existence.

Happy ending plays are called comedy
And tragic ending ones are tragedy.
Tragedy touches more than comedy.
Othello, Hamlet and Macbeth stand high.

Tragedy arouses pity and fear
That leads the readers to a catharsis,
In which the purging of pity and fear
Are released through depiction of pathos.

A tragedy is due to hamartia,
The fatal flaw committed in the play.
It is followed by anagnorises,
The realization and repentance.

Be a paly a single cohesive plot
Bound by period and territory.
Characterization and word selections
Give a boost to the interest of it.
