Whispers... Poem by Annette Aitken

Whispers...

Rating: 5.0

Whispers

Whispers,
drifting on the breeze.
Voices barely legible,
do my ears deceive me?
beckoning me to come forth
and spread my wings wide
and soar above the crashing waves
dispensing the weight of a
barbwire covered cross.
Impossible for me to carry alone.
For nothing can separate me,
from the real me.
For my strength,
my courage,
will carry me through.
For only I believe in me.
As life's struggle will emerge
brighter, stronger, whole.

As the whispers release me from my captures.

it's basically a fine poem, and escape from containment! but a couple of suggestions, my friend, re these, otherwise very nice ending lines: As life's struggle will emerge ..............[As from life's struggle I'll emerge] brighter, stronger, whole. As the whispers release me from my captures. ..............captors i think. ;) (to be continued) ....

Very nice, the deep person is very complex, so strong yet gentle at the same time, whispers are confirming your freedom. Very nice!
