Whispers Of The Wind Poem by Dallas Carter

Whispers Of The Wind

It calls to me in words I do not know
Singing sweet melodies in an unrecognizable tone
Chilled fingers brush against my lips
Nothing to be satisfied in such a sweet kiss

The winds of February hold me dear
Restless peace speaks softly in my ear
To have and to hold, to learn and to know
The language used in the whispers of the wind

May the lonesome soul be put to rest
Leaving icy tendrils in my chest
Breathtaking views so hard to find
Will only then give me peace of mind

Sweet echoes taunt this soul of mine
Leaving out all bitterness this time
The kindness of these words you see
Come for me when it's time to sleep
