White Music Poem by Madathil Rajendran Nair

White Music

Rating: 5.0

I lay beside my grand-daughter
three moths old
listening to the music her mother
had set for her
on the smart phone.

White music, she explained,
a simulation of amniotic sound;
it soothes and carries
the child back to the comfort
of its fetal cradle.

The child dozed off
with a binki between her lips;
perhaps she dreamt,
her eyelids pulsed.

What was her dream like
I wondered
and with the music sank
through countless amnions
back into the One
the primal sound Aum
whose white music
flowered like a dream,
the universe began to brim.

Lovely poem. We can always wonder about the language of music being so universal. Science seems to confirm the sound of OUM as sound coming from Sun, the first vibrations. I just marvel at all the wonders of the world.

It's the small things, the little events that make up life, that add to its beauty. A beautiful delineation of a beautiful bond. And of course music is life too. Music is a great stress-reliever. Very well-penned.

For me 'white music' is a new concept! Imagine the time when the universe fills with Aum that takes us back to the One from whom all sound emanated! Enjoyed reading this!
