White Peonies And Puppy Dog's Poem by Mark Heathcote

White Peonies And Puppy Dog's

I see, she has porcelain skin
and limbs that many thought were a little too thin.
One is attractive; the other is less so.
However, I'm willing to forgive one.
But not so nearly the other.

But yet, let me love her as I do
white peonies and puppy dogs.
That has a small minor defect.
A little support and her beauty
will undoubtedly be sublime.
And what's more, I'll cherish her as mine.

However, such delicate flowers
need continuous maintenance.
And, it's me that'll -break with the weight
of such new everlasting feelings.
And a nip or two later to show how
I am also a trusting fool.
Shall have me regretting, how I too
once loved puppy dogs and white peonies.
