Who I Am Poem by Ronald Strickland

Who I Am

Rating: 5.0

I have been kissed by the Sun,
danced beneath the stars,
romanced by the light of the moon.

I have danced in the sand on the Sea Shore,
rolled in the grass on a downhill slope,
and laugh until tears would flow.

I have cried and leaned a shoulder for
others to cry.

I have told stories of heart aches and pain,
listened to others who had stories of the same.

I have loved with heart and soul and
received love that warmed and excited me
from head to toe.

I have been treated and talked about and called
many names. But i never let who i am be washed down a drain.

I push the insults that would have given me pain
into the wind to be blow away in time and who i am, i remain.

Goodness that comes my way, like the goodness given to a child.
It will always remain.

Forgive those who condemn you or it will drive you insane.
