Who Is Mum Poem by Carmen Cilla Cook

Who Is Mum

Who is there singing a sweet lullaby
Who is there when you think that you can fly
Who is there when you run right out of milk
Who is there brushing your hair till its turns to silk
Who is there when your brother just won’t share
Who is there when you’ve lost your whole bus fair
Who is there when you bite your own top lip
Who is there to see you off on your first trip
Who is there for your first ever bike ride
Who is there to catch your fall at the end of the slide
Who is there to mend your first broken heart
Who is there cooking your favorite blueberry tart
Who is there after you’ve been in a school fight
Who is there to tuck you in and kiss you goodnight
Who is there when you go on your first date
Who is there when you choose your special mate
Who is there when a little one’s on the way
Who is there caring without even getting a say
Who is there to fix things when times get tough
Who is there even though she’s had enough
Mums never ever get a rest and always do their very best……….
