Wish You Well Poem by Carmen Cilla Cook

Wish You Well

Hold no guilt, from the life that one built
Those walls are thin, and often cave in
Support lines are short, for they can’t be bought
One can’t return, and this time have learned
What’s done is done, and one cannot run
For all of the past, their malice won’t last
Wish you well
Their ignorance you see, won’t make up a plea
Hushed circles of peers, their grasps or their sneers
Precious old flames, you’re important not names
So with head held high, one continues to try
Walk in front is the plan, they all know that they can
Wish you well
So forward one goes, prudently forgiveness flows
The future a treasure, can give so much pleasure
All those in one’s way, vanished now from yesterday
Forgive if you dare, still wish you there
Wish you well
