Who said, my darling, you are beautiful?
Even I didn't, at least after marriage that you are beautiful!
When we met I did think you are an artist's dream
Chiselled succulent marble, lushes curves, concave or convex dipped in cream!
I thought your tresses were like halo of nimbus
Doe's eyes and smiling mischief on lips
Sensuous bosom, dimpled cheeks and succulent hips
You represented erotic geometry which made me dizzy and semi-conscious!
But I never said this to you before marriage
Perhaps I was shy; and there was no reason to say all this after marriage
Slowly, something else which was deeper replaced your sensual and visual magic
Now fifty years have passed making a golden marriage
Through occasional turbulence in marriage and togetherness
I don't know, the ethereal beauty has passed into what emptiness
The body is etched with wrinkled calligraphy of time
With bright soulful meaning and essence of oneness
Is it a new 'avatar' of beauty my darling?
Healthy but without the classic artist's carving
How many levels of beauty we have passed through!
Come in my arms and give me a kiss, long and deep, my darling
