Who's That Gal? Poem by Denis Martindale

Who's That Gal?

Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Girl, I like each one a lot,
And Wonder Woman, with her twirl, as played by Gal Gadot!
And Thunder Girl is oh, so nice, and Laser Girl is, too,
And Starlight took me by surprise, by what that gal can do!

Hawk Girl has wings, and that's unique! She's often in a scrap,
Now she's in the Justice League, she's often in a flap!
Each one has courage, there's no doubt, up for a fight for sure,
They punch and kick to sort things out and settle every score!

There's Power Girl, who looks so fine, white swimsuit, by the way,
To many, that's a plain design, but I think that's okay!
In films, cartoons and TV shows, their glamour can astound,
Wonder Girl's got the cutest pose, the loveliest I've found!

Paradise Island looks like Rome! Amazons everywhere!
Yet it can never be my home, and that seems most unfair!
I'm stuck here, in rain-soaked England, sometimes chilled to the bone!
I'm lonesome, and I'm somewhat stunned, with no gal of my own!

Here is another superhero-style poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale. The poem 'WHO'S THAT GAL? ' is about several superheroines loved by comic book fans for decades. The poem mentions each of them and includes the new characters in TV shows and TV series. No, they are not all princesses like Diana and Drusilla, and they are not all immortal either. So their heroic tales as mortals are even more impressive. Many superheroines are firmly based in America, yet here I am, stuck in England, with my Sky set-top box, my Roku TV stick, and my 4K Smart TV for company, asking, 'WHO'S THAT GAL? '
